owing to the good weather we had and on, uh, Far- Far's day, T Burger and I went on the Black Is Beautiful bike ride. What a freaking great event that was. Yeah. That was truly spectacular. [baby cries] Yeah.

I mean everything about it. Daniel, we're talking. [laughs] We're talking. That was actually, I mean, it, it far exceeded anything I expected it was going to be. Yeah. I, it was- You know?

I was expecting a couple hundred folks. I don't- Yeah... I don't know what the final number was, but- I've-... it kept gaining momentum as we went. I heard numbers vacillating between 1,000 and 2,000. Yeah.

Yeah, I, I would say- I think it was closer to the 2,000 [laughs]... uh, by the time we got to Washington Park, I'm saying 2,000 was- Yeah, it was pretty-... was kind of the height of the, uh- Yeah, that was intense...

gathering of the people along the way. That was... And you know, I said this a lot on Sunday, but shout-out to those skateboarders and those roller skaters who took some of those hills so impressively. Yeah.

I'm like, uh, uh, the, the dude, I, I went up and talked to him, the, the young Black dude in the pink, like, cutoff top shirt j- bombing that Center Street hill.

I mean, I, like, had to look away, I was so worried he was just gonna- [laughs]... fricking yard sale everywhere, and he just cruised right through it, man. It's like- Yeah... wow.

And, and, and the, the ride was somewhere around 16 miles-ish. Yeah, something like that. Give or take a little bit. And, uh, and those folks did the whole thing, which was- Pretty impressive... pretty impressive. Yeah.

And the young lady who was, uh, I don't know if she was smart enough or if someone loaned it to her, but who had the, uh, bike lock wrapped around her boyfriend's, uh, seat post- Yeah, she-... as she skateboarded.

He pulled her a bunch of it. I'm like- Oh, yeah... "That's styling." That was still a lot of work [laughs] to be on a skateboard at 12, 13 miles an hour. Dig, dig. Actually, we were never going that fast.

[laughs] I don't think. It was a leisurely ride. It was a leisurely ride. And we were towards the back of the ride most of the time. On purpose. It was good. On, yeah. Keep, keeping us safe.

Well, they did want us, um- Doing a little sweep... lighter-skinned people to be in the back too- [laughs]... per their request, which is totally fine. I totally understand it.

It was, you know, the sign of, of solidarity there was, was awe-inspiring.

The people that came out in the streets to cheer us on and, you know, there was a couple of disgruntled drivers, but other than that, that was a, it was a very positive day.

Yeah, for something that's taking up a few minutes of your life- Right... it's like, you know- Relax... just suck it up or turn around and go the other way. Right. You know? Right. You can find your way around.

It doesn't- Although at one point, that line was from Martin Luther King up to Center Street Hill past Holton east. Oh, yeah. Go, what does that be? Six blocks? That's good six, very long six blocks. Yeah.

Um, so there was a lot of... And both lanes, all four lanes in some spots. Uh, once it was moving, it was going- It was good... past an intersection, it'd take about five minutes- Yeah. Yeah... for the train to go by.

It's like- No problem... you know. I don't know. People, I think, that gets disgruntled, you know, is it just that it's wasting their time they think, or are they against the idea of it in general? Of justice. Right.

important part, not that I don't love the FTTM, but I finally accomplished my, my goal of having an Oscar's cheeseburger [laughs] through cor- through the, the quarantine.

That was, uh- I've been craving one for months... oh, for sure. That was a good, uh, uh, kind of pre-game, 'cause my mom called me this week and asked what I want to do for my birthday.

And I said, "Well, you know, Mom, [laughs] we were just at Oscar's and it's, it's really very, um, I think safe out on the deck there." Yeah. Yeah.

And then, uh, uh, the four of us that were riding together parked and, and walked up to the deck and who was sitting up there but, but [laughs] JK and Kim. JK and Kim. [laughs] So I'm like, "Wait a second.

We know those guys" I think we know everyone here today. Yeah, exactly. That was funnier than hell. And it was, as usual, the greatest cheeseburger in the world. Yeah. You don't- God, man... you don't kid about that.

and his, his little group of people and tried to catch up with them here and there, and ended up catching up with them basically at the last stop before the end of the ride. [laughs] Yeah, going home, yeah.

[laughs] Well, we were- So it was-... we were driving and we went, we found ourselves right by Saz's as they were meeting up and it was like, "Oh. Oh, there they are. Okay. Then okay, that's cool."

But then the call of the Oscars came and it was like- That's a hard one to pass, man... oh, it was. It was. That's a hard one to pass. Matter of fact, I, I think I was in here and we were getting ready to go for a ride.

G- we were waiting for someone to pick up a bike, and Greg's, you know, saying, "Hey, you know, are you gonna go do the FTTM?" I'm like, "Well, I really kinda wanna go to Oscars." He's like, "That's a lot better idea."

[laughs] I'm like, "Yep" Yeah, we can kinda do both. We could do that. We could do that. Yeah, yeah. So, um, I became a member of the button-pushing club- [sighs]... this week. He pushed the button.

Ah, the button is being pushed. He pushed the button. [laughs] It is so much fun. And I, I threw that on there Monday just to, to get, to get the effect, the feel. Um, real similar to how Tony set his up. It's super,

super simple, electric front wheel, Bafang 311. Yep, throttle only. Little throttle, just basically to get away from the stoplights and get up to speed- I know... and cut her out and, uh, and it's actually pretty fun.

Uh, here's the deal is we were doing the whole Black is Beautiful ride, and I'm like, I, as I was riding, I'm barely using the throttle at all, just, you know, once or twice, and all I kept thinking to myself is, "The more I ride this without using pedal-assist or, or in my case throttle, the further I can go and still get back home using it" Yeah.

This is- So that part of it makes me wanna ride a lot further than I normally ride. It, it's like when you're riding with the group, you don't really need it- Right, right...

and then when you're, when you break off solo and you just wanna bomb home, you're, you're, you can do that. Yeah, 33.2 miles in our home. [laughs] Yeah, I'm kinda keep- That was last week.
