that impacted the Sunday. I impacted that Saturday. [laughs] So the first ride was, uh, St Paddy's Day parade. That was a, that was a good ride. Yes. Moseyed out to McBob's.

And full test of the growler holder, and successfully delivered growler beer. Nice. Growler, the growler grabber. The growler grabber. Growler grabber. Including a wipe out, and the growler did not break.

Uh, yeah, we took a different route out there than I normally would go. I, I'm real happy with the- It's the only ride I will, the route I will ever take to McBob's [laughs] again. Yeah. [laughs] It was gorgeous.

I've utilized it on more than one occasion, and it's pretty decent at keeping you off places where there's more cars than bikes. This... Are you, uh, peppering over there? [laughs] Sorry about that.

[laughs] Tony brought in some spicy beef jerky from Held's up there north of the city a little bit. Off of Highway 41. I highly recommend a stop. Yep. Held's Meat Products. And cheese. And cheese. Yes, they do both well.

That one building blocked, like, a good 20 mile an hour sustained wind. Yeah. The only good news is we had the wind at our back to McBob's, so uphill wind at our back made downhill wind in our face way more tolerable.

[laughs] Yeah, for sure. And I did locate my Endura pants, so I was pretty happy to have something on my bottom that wasn't, uh, leaky. [laughs] Leaky, le- ugh.

But 40 degrees, 38 degrees, and rain, just about the nastiest riding conditions there are. [laughs] Oh, yeah, and then it... Well, yeah, then it, it mutated into the snow slush- Mm-hmm... right at the end of the night.

Beautiful. Ugh. Well, if I had the right, right gear. [laughs] I did not have the right... Didn't have the really the right gear or the right bike for the, the squishy, squishy... I don't need to fall again. [laughs] No.

I did my one for the season, I think. I had two, including that day. [laughs] Oh, was that the... That... I had a slide out in the alley, I think, on that end of that day. Oh. You had taken...

You went around the corner on the street, and I kinda shortcutted through the alley, and I saw you go by and I went psh. Oh. Zing. Little knee, little knee thing. Little knee bump.

There was still ice and snow on the ground. That pretty much gone by now, though. Mm. There's a little bit of a pile across the street still, but, uh- Yeah...

I think the City O' Milwaukee is thinking we're not getting a whole lot more freezing, 'cause they were out there today in front of ye olde shoppe here slapping the black, uh-... asphalt into the potholes Yeah.

Well, good luck with that If it lasts, if and it doesn't freeze and- There's, there's a couple of potholes I think they're gonna name lakes pretty soon [laughs] around here. Whoa. Yes.

It has been a crusty winter for making big old potholes, hasn't it? Yeah. Oh, yeah. There was one out by, uh, in, uh, near, uh, Gathering Place, wasn't there? Yeah. There's a big, big moon crater in there.

It was that- At least, at least in our case... that, that lakefront, lakefront fixation, collaborative... I'm not sure what the deal was. Find the bridge. St. Patrick's Day ride. Yeah.

[laughs] Which I guess people do rides different than we do, because they rode and [laughs] we stood under a bridge. No, no, that's not it. We rode to that bridge.

We rode to that bridge, and I wanted to heckle- And then skip in line... so I stood at a heckling spot. Yeah. Or skip the, skip the parade route. Yeah. Went right to the next brewery. And then, yeah.

I think we did, I think we handled that very well. [laughs] I was surprised nobody from the actual ride wanted to get involved in the hubcap skid contest.

I, uh, was in a situation at that point that that would not have been a good idea. [laughs] Just like to get things going at events like that where there's more than just standing around drinking beer.

Not even Zito wanted to do it? Zito did it. Okay. Yeah. Um, yeah, he was part of- I was inside, uh, kinda flaked out. [laughs] By the time I went outside it was like, "Da, doo, doom, doom. You guys all suck.

over there on Vienna and Milwaukee, Wisconsin Every, every Thursday if you should care to join them, they have a dollar off of every, every pint you buy, a dollar of it goes to the charity of the week.

And, uh- I don't, I don't think I have my disloyalty cards punched from those guys. I keep forgetting to bring it out. So, yeah. Um, but we should go, um, on Thursdays is a good, you know, good hand-in-hand support.

And, uh, in May my nonprofit will be profiting from that, so I'm encouraging everyone, when I get the date I'll let everyone know on the next podcast, that should come drink beers and maybe I'll even buy you a beer.

And, uh, the Funduro part seems like it's a bunch of events- Fun... that are fun. My idea was, and I hate beer pong, by the way, just so everybody knows how much I despise it.

[laughs] But I thought it would be kinda cool if we had, like, 10 35-gallon metal wastebaskets and a basketball to do our beer pong impression with, 'cause it would just make so much noise. Ding, dang.

[laughs] You know, it might also, if we could add to that, get, like, instead of a basketball maybe something slightly more bouncy and you have to do it with your bike. Yeah. I, I was trying to figure out a way to do it.

There's something there. Um, I mean, it's not as simple as bucket ball. Mm-hmm. Which I would recommend somebody brings a five-gallon bucket. That'd be fun.

I'm like trying to recall. Something along those lines. Yeah. I think Death by Misadventure's pretty good. It's a good name anyway. Yeah, I was wondering about what, who was in that band or what was in it?

I know Mike's in that band. Yeah. I don't know who else is in that band. And then, uh, Ex-Uncle is, uh, is Chris Zion's band from Zion Cyclery, and he will also be per- Chris Zion [laughs]... performing.

a band show being utilized. I think July- I mean, I'm not up there very often. Yeah, I think I went once. Yeah, July 4th, I think there was an Oompah band there- Oh, I'm sure there's stuff going on...

but that's the only time I've ever seen anything in there. I've just never... Yeah. This is a, a good use of it, I would say. I spend very little time at that band show because- Right... that beach ride is so great.

Yeah, I think we're gonna probably go both directions. What with the lake level being high, we'll go north first and then maybe south too. Maybe make that an optional. When is that, in May? Uh, well, almost. April.

Ap- April 28th. Better get my fat bike ready. Uh, speaking of your fat bike, I should have the wheels done tomorrow and, uh, re-dished because of your offset fork, your fork and fork. Ah, yes.

And you got that, you got that fancy rack, right? That's a Jordan rack, by the way. This is a Jordan? Yeah. One of the first-ish ones he made, I think. [laughs] Right.

But it's, it's offset a little bit enough to do that. The one thing I noticed is it's, it goes pretty far forward, so with a full six-pack in there, it affects your handling just a little bit.

I, I bet, but- But it's really nicely done. I have a Jordan front rack on another one of my bikes, and it is just shy of stunning. Yeah, he did a nice job. I mean, no, it's not. It is absolutely stunning.

Dave's bike over there all re-tired and re-drivetrained and- New Teesdales? Well, yeah, we have those offset Teesdale forks.

We built those when Surly had an issue with a recall on their forks, just to have some available, and did a slightly different rake on it to change the handling a little bit less truck-like and a little more trail-like.

So I thought, "Well, since we got them sitting around here, we might as well throw one on there and see if he likes it or not." Yeah. 'Cause, uh, he got an extra 40 millimeters of height.

Dave's really tall, so he wanted the bars up a little bit more, and there's a, that there's 40 more millimeters of rise to this 'cause the steerer tube's so freaking long on that thing.

That's sort of my test bed for Sam 'cause Sam's throwing down for a Chumba fat bike frame, and we're gonna see where he needs to be size-wise and then dial in his componentry from there, hey. Yikes. Yeah.
