They got a nice ski hill there that they use for the bombing down of the bicycles on it. Is that on the Little Switzerland- Yeah, yeah... mm-hmm. Yeah, I don't know how often they do it.

Once a month maybe they have an, uh, an event that they bomb down the hill. Years ago I worked at Winter Park, Colorado, and they in fact convert the, uh, the chair lifts to put racks in the back and you just...

It's the easiest mountain biking you'll ever do. Yeah, for sure. Nice lockdown hill. Lifts served, and, uh, ice cream at the top of the hill. Yep. It's the best thing in the world. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.

Now that we've actually done it, we can say where we were, but Gathering Place Brewery was butts to guts. [laughs] I mean, it was a struggle to get a beer. I didn't even go inside. Yeah, you were probably lucky.

Jason and Amanda Manders, who put on the event now, um- Did a pretty good job considering that the city of Milwaukee called them the night before at 6:00 and said, "Oh, by the way, we're canceling the big event you guys had planned in Juneau Park."

Mm-hmm, yeah. Speaking of the shore of Lake Michigan, uh, I know there's folks from all over the world here now for Summerfest, which started today. Ooh. Self- self-proclaimed largest music festival in the world.

10, nine, 10 days. Some, some long amount- It's like-... of days. I think it's 10 days now... like, how many bands? The band number's insane this year. It- it's- it's unfathomamama-ble. Yeah, it's... Like, 1,000?

Well, especially if you throw in all the people that the, you know, the groups that set up outside just to play for, for pittance. Yeah, and some of the smaller stages- Yeah...

is a really great Milwaukee two-piece band. Uh, they each play multiple instruments, so they'll, like, change instruments in the middle of a song or, uh, and they're two brothers. They're... It's a, it...

I saw them open for Wild Belle and they were, they blew my mind. Nice. This is- Awesome. Well, if anybody is in town for Summerfest, come by the shop, say howdy.

We're only two miles away approximately f- as the crow flies from the- Straight up the bike trail... festival grounds, right off the bike path there. Yep. Good bike parking down there. Great place to ride your bike to.

Yeah. Oh yeah. Don't drive to Summerfest, man. Heck no. That, you're gonna spend hours getting out of there if you stay till the end of the night. You, you park- On a bike, you're out in three minutes.

You could even, like, park it in Riverwest, say, at the, near the bike shop or Black Husky Brewing and sh- do a quick trip over the bridge and you're on the path and heading to Summerfest.

And heck, you don't even need a bike. You can just grab a Bublr or s- something- You can do that too... a rental bike, uh, right out of the rack for a couple bucks and roll down there. Absolutely.

That would be a good thing to do. I did that last year. I had a friend that didn't have a bike. I said, "Hey, I got a Bublr pass. Why don't you just grab a bike and we'll go down there?" Nice. Worked out famously. Yep.

We're seeing those more and more around the city. I guess way out, out West Dallas way, they have one near Dave's house. Mm-hmm. That's crazy. Mm-hmm. Do you see that Madison electrified all theirs? No. Yep. Do tell.

Last week, I believe it was, they have released an entire set of electric Bicycles that are 17 mile an hour governed and look like a ton of fun. It's almost worth going to Madison just to ride 'em around.

and it is in Milwaukee on July 17th at Landmark's Downer Theater, which kinda throws me because there's a Landmark Theater and they- Well, not anymore... there's a Downer Theater. Nope. Are they... It's not... What? No.

Oriental is not part of Landmark anymore. It's now owned by the Milwaukee Film Festival. Exactly. Right. So it's only called Oriental Theater now. Big change. Yeah. Gotcha. Well, there you go.

So Landmark's Downer Theater is there in, uh, in the east side of Milwaukee, and it sounds like a worthwhile thing to do if you like films about cycling. Critical Mass is Friday, too. What am I, you know?
