I did go into the new to be shop area, and had to pick out a ride, and everything's kinda packed in there because we need to do some build out and painting and such, and had to get out of the other space pretty quickly.

So it's not very conducive to getting bikes out, but the first thing that struck my eye was the Ralph. This is, uh, about a 1995 Teasdale built Ralph bike.

I took some pictures of it, so if you go to the website fullspectrumcycling.com, pretty sure you'll see pictures of said bike. It just... This is a, a crazy build. It's got a Nexus rear hub.

the brains behind the 24, not that there's not a thousand other people that help out, but Jeremy is the man that originally got this thing going some 20 plus years ago as a way for the

community of Riverwest to come together and have a night of fun and riding and partying.

And by cracky, if you come to Wisconsin and put your feet down in Milwaukee, if you don't do this thing on the last weekend in July, you're kinda missing out, 'cause this is one of the best things that I've been to in the entire United State 'Murica.

So we're gonna do a little roll around the neighborhood before we head over there. Got about, you know, couple of... 20, 50, 70 minutes till it's time to get to Jeremy's place.

I don't know if, uh, you folks have ever been to the place, but we've got one, two, three, four, five, six lanes down here, and, uh, I've got the Aussie Julian to give us a little history of Falcon Bowl and what has recently happened to it, except that he's now talking to some other guy.

So we'll, uh, do a little bit of, um, standing around and listening to balls clack around and whatnot. All right, Julian. Yeah, yeah, that's what I hear. So, so you- Sure... you were gonna ex... Oh, Sven, Julian.

G- give us a little bit of a history of what's gone on and- Sure... why this has be- become something that is actually cool again when it was so- Yeah... close to being extinct.

So one of the weird sort of, uh, journeys that this, uh, institution has been through is that, um, it started off as a, um, um, as an ethnic place, uh, for Polish immigrants to come, uh, here to find community.

Um, and, uh, because of, as I'm sure you're aware, the lovely balmy Milwaukee weather, which is just winter 11 months out of the year, um- Cut it out [laughs] It's beautiful out today. So- It's like 72. It's great...

so, so Wisconsin did this great thing of in bringing across, not inventing, but bringing across this thing called bowling. So we think it's from Germany. That's a loose understanding.

Like, could be, but that regional area, Poland, Slovenia, that sort of central. Um, and because of the winters, um, everybody wanted something to do indoors, and so we thought, "Why not?"

Do this thing where we have a ball and we have- Right, right... something to throw the ball at. Yeah. Because it's sort of like baseball, but it's not. So this is, uh... So here's all the interesting bragging points.

We are the, uh, fourth oldest bowling alley in the United States. Do you know the first is also in- Is, is it-... Milwaukee... is, is the- Holler House. Is, oh, oh- It's the oldest sanctioned bowling alley- Correct...

right over on- Correct... uh, Lincoln Avenue or wherever. So Wisconsin has the number one- Yeah... and number f- four oldest, so- We're definitely suckers for bowling in Wisconsin, for sure.

But I mean, it, it, it does make sense, you know, it, the climate, um, and the demographic which was here. So the building's from 1890. Um, the lanes are original, uh, from 1915.

The machines were the first automated, uh, non... Because what we used to have, uh, obviously in the old days- Pin setters... is, is, is pin setters. Which they still have at Holler House- Yeah, yeah... which is so cool.

This is Jeremy Proch's birthday party, right? So two- He's the guy that started the Riverwest 24, and even though thousands of people have made it happen since then, he's the man. So we are

at this venue for his 50th birthday party, and I just, I can't believe how awesome this place is. Everybody should be here doing the everything that everybody does at these kind of places.

Uh, uh, so this place was also, uh, gymnastics.

Polish, uh, immigrants and their families were very into gymnastics, and much like Turner Hall, which is one of our best music venues in the area still, um, these were places where people did gymnastics and had clubs, and they competed against other, uh, local gymnastics teams who had a place like this to practice.

So one of the things that he just relayed to me that it was not on his earlier, uh, talky chatty thing into the microphony deal was that as much as this was kind of a community gathering place, they had, like gymnastics, and they eventually had the bowling alley, this place was really here to sell mortgages to
