[laughs] I was, I was so depressed I went camping by myself [laughs] for four days in Michigan. Yeah. And then the- It's- And then the bike showed up and you... Yeah.

I came back, the bike showed up, and I think I'm gonna be off camping for, uh, for at least two weeks. Gonna go through the Front Range and Fruita and then out to Ogden, Utah for SaddleDrive.

SaddleDrive. Gonna be visiting some bike companies along the way if they'll see me, so. Oh, they'll see you. [laughs] See me to the door. If they know what's good for them. But, uh, yeah, Moots.

So- So it's a large, I would imagine. Yeah. Yeah. So it fits me. Right on. And, uh- And that's a 26x4, right? That's- Right... yeah, and he does a plus bike- A 177 through axle with Maxles and a Bluto.

So I'm gonna take that out west. That's the bike I'm gonna take out west with me. Running a XX1. Nicey nice. So hopefully I have a low enough gear or I'll just be a pedestrian.

It's just like, well, okay, that's about gear for uphill switchbacks, and so I have to, you know- You can get a, you can get a bigger ring from, uh, OneUp or, you know, OneUp- Or a smaller front ring.

I don't know what my second bike, what my choice is gonna be for a second bike or whether I want to, you know, move two bikes all the time instead of just whipping one bike off the back rack, 'cause I'm not...

I'm going to tent camp. I'm gonna use my hammock and- No camper being pulled... no camper. Just too much gas and just too much- Yeah... stuff for just one person. Right.

the Tour de France upcoming here on, starting on Saturday... yeah. Well, while you were gone, there was quite a big, a lot of news about Tour Divide as well. I followed all of that. Anybody fatbike that or plus bike it?

Um, they all seem to be riding... Well, JP was riding that new Salsa, that that was the bike that they made for that route. Right on. Yep. It was a big carbon kind of adventure drop bar. I don't know.

And, uh, Neil Beltchenko, he was riding a Chumba. Neil Beltchenko from bikepackermagazine.com. How about that guy, huh? Dude, it's his first time doing it, and he was, like, in the beginning the whole way. Wow.

That's impressive. And then some cat that, that I have never heard of, and I don't know what kind of bike he rides or anything, uh, he actually won BJP.

But the three of them were very close and duked it out right to the end. Very cool, uh, thing. And, uh, our b- friend of, uh, lady friend of, of a guy that I met up in Alaska, uh, Nicholas Carmen, his girlfriend Lael

w- won the women's and broke the record. And the record, I guess, has been shattered again. Yeah. Wow. It's amazing. Good conditions on a decent bike with some fit people and that's what you get, a race. Yeah. Yeah, man.

Can you imagine, though, this is race camping, so it's like you just don't ever sleep. The guy that poops the fastest gets out first. I'd just be doomed. [laughs] I need a poop and a nap. [laughs] With a tap on the back.

I like to sleep. I take forever to poop. [laughs] Why rush setting up your t- Just smell... they probably didn't even set up tents. They just had a nap in a ditch. Yep. For what? 32 minutes and then I'm out of here.

Yeah. So yeah, crazy stuff. Fat bikes were well-represented. The out route for Fat Tire Tour Milwaukee- Oh... a couple weeks ago. Mm-hmm. Yeah. It worked out. Yeah, we didn't run into you on that day. Pretty fantastic.

Events like that and the Riverwest 24 I think are things that I would travel to some other city for. So I think it makes c- good sense for them to come to our city. Yeah.

Yeah, I think it's, it's a, it's a compelling story, and she's using a fat bike, which is what caught my eye. Yeah. More that it's the fat bike is being used for a double century. But you never know. By a nine-year-old.

What, what are you kidding me? That's gonna be awesome if she can- Maybe this nine-year-old... she rode 100, she rode 100-miler last year on a mountain bike. Yeah. So there's more in that story than meets the eye.

He's brand new, like not long week or something like that. Yeah. And the previous mayor wouldn't do... m- make these rides while the mayor before him did, so now he's kind of bringing back a thing that- Ah...

a mayor or two ago had been able to- The bike-friendly mayor party- Yeah, and-... is back in power... right, and that gets... It energizes people, I think. Yeah. Get to ride with your local official, so.

And say, "Hey, man." Milwaukee has a good bike-friendly mayor. Yeah, true that. When I had a ticket for, uh, riding in that, uh, whatever you call that, what is the- Underwear ride? [laughs] No. Road? The road?

I got a ticket because I don't think my bike was licensed. That was the t- they wrote me. It was like $36. I just paid it and [laughs] the, uh, the mayor, Mayor Barrett, gave me a refund, man, sent me a check, so.

Bike friendly. And then a couple months after that, Critical Mass worked it out with the cops and you had like Critical Mass with, with police escort, so it was quite the turnaround. [laughs] Yeah.

One is a Jamis Dragon Slayer, which would've been perfect for you, but, uh, you were- Out of town. So I went to our New Chester Andy from Vet Camp. Right on, all over in Michigan, yep. Yeah. Yep.

So I brought that over when I went to Michigan, and he's gonna take that bike. He's ridden it for now a couple of weeks in Michigan, and now he's taking it to New York and Maine, doing a little cycle vacation.

Sounds great. I'd- it's a, it's a bike I'd like to check out, for sure. And, uh, we also have Mr. Colin Ford on a Lenz Fatillac, a 29-plus full suspension bike that, uh- Boom... he's, he's riding.

I have, I have nothing to report, but I plan on stopping and seeing him when I go to Colorado. Yeah, try and get some action shots, 'cause I have a feeling he's gonna bomb that thing. Yeah, it, it should.
